Seljalandsfoss, Iceland

Seljalandsfoss, Iceland
Seljalandsfoss is one of Iceland's most beautiful waterfalls. It spills out over an overhang and it's possible to walk behind it, if you don't mind getting wet. On this particular evening the conditions were just about ideal. Photographed looking directly into the setting sun, the warm evening light illuminates the back of the cave while the sun is softened by the waterfall itself. Shooting in here is hard on equipment and photographer both, and it's a constant struggle to keep the lens clear of spray. Perseverance and patience win out, however.
