Description:
When I went to Antrim, I had two images I knew I wanted. The Giant's Causeway, and Fair Head from Murlough Bay. I got images I was very happy with from both locations, this being one of them.
Murlough Bay is an isolated stretch of wild coastline just to the east of Fair Head itself, and has a wonderful (and ankle-breaking) boulder beach. After photographing the sunrise from the beach, I was returning to the B&B.
Halfway back up the hill, I noticed a trail leading off the road a little, so I parked the car and followed it, to be led to this fantastic little patch of bluebells.
The rain clouds were gathering, but the sun was still illuminating the hillside and I was able to make this exposure which turned out to be my favourite from the morning.
It goes to show that often it's the image you didn't expect to make that's the best one.
