Description:
Another scene from near my old home outside Chicago, I drove past this tree every day on my way to work. I always thought it would make a good photograph in the right conditions, especially in Winter when its branches would be bare.
One evening my wishes were granted as I was coming home. I saw a glorious sunset developing and rushed to the location of the tree, which is standing in a corn field. We had a fall of snow shortly before, followed by a day or two of wind which creates the smooth sculpted drifts you see in the foreground.
To seal the image, the clouds co-operated and created a lovely arc of high cirrus through the frame.
