Description:
Another shot made while with a workshop student, this one is of the Gearagh near Macroom. It is a part of the river Lee and is the last piece of alluvial woodland still remaining in Europe west of the Rhine.
A large portion of it (seen in this image) was cleared by the ESB in the 1960s and is regularly flooded by the dam which was built downstream. On this evening the water levels were moderately high, although the stumps of some trees can be seen poking through the surface.
This shot was made about half an hour after sunset looking into the rising moon.
