Description:
Lough Tay at midnight in midwinter, this was a chilly and expensive photograph to make. Just before making this exposure I cracked open the case of my ultra-wide angle lens when the tripod blew over. It was worth it to get this image though (with a different lens, of course).
This is a seven minute exposure, hence the visible detail and star trails. The shadow across the face of Luggala to the right of the frame is Djouce mountain interrupting the silvery moonlight. The glow on the horizon at left is Dublin's streetlighting in the distance.
