Ridge Path, Hveravellir Geothermal Valley, Iceland

Description:
One of the lesser known geothermal areas in Iceland is the Hveradalir valley in the Kerlingarfjöll mountains. The rock in the area is mostly rhyolite, hence the reddish colour.
This is a view along one of the ridges in the valley. The intense blue of the sky, the cloud patterns and the orange rock create a surreal scene, with the ridge leading the eye into the image.
