Kerlingarfjöll Mountains, Iceland

Description:
Loðmundur, the third highest of the Kerlingarfjöll mountains in south-western Iceland is its most prominent peak at 1,429 meters (4,688 feet). Seen here in the late evening light (at around 11.30pm!), it rises impressively like a horn sprouting from the northern flank of the range.
The shadowed foreground with its sweeping snowfields leads nicely into the main sunlit portion, and provides a cooling contrast to the warm colours of the peak itself.
